This project involved the replacement of approximately 4,000 square feet of single pane glazing with double pane insulated glass. The new aluminum tube framing had to be designed to integrate into the existing building conditions around the windows. New structural support was designed to carry the weight of the new glazing on the existing structure. Temporary walls on the inside of the glass provided security and weather resistance during the replacement. One the interior, the frames had to be coordinated with the finish walls, floors, ceiling, perimeter heating units and some laboratory casework. The finished result is an attractive, weather-tight, glass facade which has far superior energy performance.
